Abstract
Frequent coups d’état, civil wars, dictators perpetually in power, politic instability and incessant fighting between political parties have been regular activities of the presidential history of Honduras, since the dissolution of the Central American Federation in 1838 until present times. Actions by prominent intellectual Hondurans from the first half of the 20th Century played out a decisive part of the process undergone by the people of Honduras to achieve peace and political, economic and social equilibrium; Rafael Heliodoro Valle, historian, author and bibliographer stood out for his work in favor of Central America and his homeland.
