Abstract
This article compares and analyzes newspapers El Universal and Excelsior, and tries to explain the new forms of cultural journalism in our country, taking for example two recognized journals, in which one can appreciate a substancial change in the way to cover events of natioanl artistic life. This essay aims to make a comparative analysis of the cultural sections of bouth newspapers during the summer of 2009, in which we have significant findings that show how one single event can be portrait from different points, sometimes even conflicting ones. A detailed review of the cultural sections of both daily newspapers leads to conclude that neither El Universal nor Excelsior do a decent job in the field of cultural journalism, since these just limited themselves to narrate a series of isolated topics and issues in a confined space and unable to show a clear editorial positions.
