Abstract

The life and intellectual activity of the Honduran polygraph Rafael Heliodoro Valle was marked by an infinite correspondence held with the most intellectual and outstanding men in Latin America, and, in a less extent, some eminent Spanish, French, German, Swiss, Portuguese and American men, immersed in the cultural development of their own nations. An approximate of 36 000 letters, form the same-named collection, deposited in the Mexican National Library (Biblioteca Nacional de México). One part of this correspondence was held between 30 Peruvian scholars from 1921 to 1958. The value of and within this collection includes history, literature, poetry, bibliography, journals, political daily events, and personal situations, as well. Trough these lines, one is able to access the thinking of those who wrote it, their dreams, hopes, projects and intellectual production.
