Abstract

This paper is a review of the Revista Quincenal de Anatomía Patológica y Clínicas Médica y Quirúrgica, published in Mexico city over the last decade of the XIXth Century. This journal stands out among the firsts specialized medical research periodicals, edited by a hospital institution. It was created and directed by doctor Rafael Lavista, head of Saint Andrew’s Hospital, in an attempt to publicize the activities on the Museum of Pathological Anatomy, organized to support medical research and teaching of that hospital. The editors of this publication were prominent in the medical research and teaching skills, and thereby it’ interesting to know their involvement in this editorial effort that contributed to spread the news of Mexican medical task at the end of the Century.
