Abstract
Searching through the Hemeroteca Nacional Digital de México (National Digital Newspaper Library of Mexico), the author reconstructs Gerónimo Baturoni’s biography, native of Veracruz, where he developed various activities during the late XIXth Century, as many men of the time. He devoted himself to journalism, founding some publications in Veracruz’s port and Mexico City. He published patriotic tragedies, comic pieces, stories, poems, booklets and operettas. He also funded a school, where he taught and finally specialized in teaching grammar. He served as deputy in the Sixth General Congress in 1871; and likewise, he became a pioneer on the study of meteorology in his native state, where he established The Climatological and Meteorological Observatory
