Abstract

During her academic stay in Texas University at Austin, the author performed an exhaustive review of several Texan publications from the Nettie-Lee Benson collection, regarding several facts of Mexican revolutionary politics and post-revolutionary politics (Madero´s brief government, Huerta´s encroachment and the triumph and murder of Venustiano Carranza). When the revolution succeeded, a great number of Mexicans fled the country and established on Texan territory, mainly in El Paso and San Antonio, where they formed political groups, letting their opinions be known through publications —almost all edited in Spanish— as El Semanario, El Regidor (1888-1916) and the newspapers La República (1918-1929) and La Patria (1919-1924).
